SQL is a standard language for accessing and manipulating data in relational databases. It is one of the most in-demand skills in the tech industry, and is used by data analysts, data scientists, and software engineers alike.

What is SQL and how does it work?

SQL is a language for accessing and manipulating data in relational databases. A relational database is a type of database that stores data in tables. Each table has a number of columns, which are like the fields in a form. Each row in a table is a single record of data.

SQL statements are used to perform operations on data in a relational database. There are four main types of SQL statements:

SELECT statements are used to retrieve data from a database.
INSERT statements are used to add new data to a database.
UPDATE statements are used to modify existing data in a database.
DELETE statements are used to remove data from a database.

In addition to the four main types of SQL statements, there are a number of other types of SQL statements that can be used to perform more complex operations on data. These include:

JOIN statements are used to combine data from multiple tables.
GROUP BY statements are used to group data together.
HAVING statements are used to filter groups of data.
ORDER BY statements are used to sort data.
